I m interested in premium support! N dual boot with windows

  7. Eddie says:

Hi, i already have a system running, but there’s no sound coming out of any output jack. The audio ALC889 device is recognized in system preferences > audio and in system profiler and when i plug in a microphone or headphones it recongnizes that something is connected.

I already edited the DSDT to add HDEF.

Do you think you can fix it?

    EVGA SR-2
    Dual Xeon 5620@2.4
    24GB ECC RAM
    2×480 GTX
    Lion 10.7.5

    • rampagedev says:

Known issue with the SR-2. Onboard will not work. Also onboard lan will not work. I do have a completely edited DSDT which helps to maximize the system. Email me if you want more info.

  8. James says:

    Hi Rampagedev,

I have two GFX 550 Ti’s I’m trying to get working on an ASUS P9x79 Pro, Intel 3930K processor and running OS 10.7.5. On their own, each card works fine with dual monitors and full resolution. However, both combined, I’ve had no success. I’ve tried following a few threads on tonymacx86, but nothing seems to work. Would you be able to give me a hand to get this running? Thanks a lot!

  9. bertomora says:

Hey So I been trying to get my audio working on my x79-UD5 hexacore 32gb ram, I have tried everything from my understanding to get this to working but having issues for audio to work. I need major help!

    Thanks

  10. bertomora says:

    Alright just did thanks!

  11. Tristan says:

I have an Asus x79 Rampage IV Extreme
    -intel 3820 CPU
-Gtx 670 placed in the 3rd slot down because I cant stuff to fit properly with my case
-16gb of ram on XMP, but waiting for another set of 16gb ram
    -2 SSD’s , 3 Storage drives (one is empty)
-I use my usb3.0 ports as well as the 2.0 ports for peripherals.
Does this require premium tech assistance? or will everything I need be found on the website…I just don’t know where to start.

My friend said he could install it for me, but I just don’t want to bring my heavy desktop to his house.

    • rampagedev says:

It’s up to you if you want one on one guidance during the installation and post installation setup this would be the place to get it. This includes more then what is just on the DMG.

However most of what you will need to do can be found on my Asus x79 support page found here:

      Asus x79

      • Tristan says:

Oh okay. Thanks for the quick reply.

      • rampagedev says:

Its up to you. Let me know either way.

      • Tristan says:

I have the USB made by my friend, and he told me to just follow instructions on how people did it on the tonymacx86 website. But you have these ASUS DSDT’s and kexts + adding specific lines to certain files. This is confusing to me. But still haven’t really tried as I haven’t got the time to do it yet.

      • rampagedev says:

Just follow my x79 install guide sine the ones you would look at there are generic.

      • bertomora says:

Hey Man, Just wanted to see if this issue can be fixed. My audio does this weird echoing thing every time something gets played. and when some different audio clip plays it interferes and makes some weird echo. Im wondering what can bee done thought this issue was going to be resolved. thanks let me know your thoughts.

      • rampagedev says:

Change your SMBIOS to Mac Pro 3,1

      • Tristan says:

I’m not sure why I can’t even reach the installation view where it asks for what language I want to install it in. It just hangs at “still waiting for root device”. I’m willing to pay for the support, but I don’t see the use if I can’t even pass the USB boot part of the instructions.

      • rampagedev says:

Email me and we can go from there

Dear Friends. I’m planning to buy a graphic card for my davinci System on a Mac pro. I would like to know your opinion if is better to wait for a new model against the well known gtx570/580/680/590/? I’m willing to buy a 580 3gb but something tells me that is not a good idea with coming cards like the titan.. can you give me an advice?

  14. andrew says:

many thanks for help on trying to to help me set up a hackintosh with x79 motherboard I tought with all the compatable m/o cpu and eveything we could have at leat got something up and running but it seems maybe I was mistaken
    andrew

  15. andrew says:

I think getting it made would be very very expensive after all the money I have paid for the set up I have I never knew that it would be this difficult to set up a hackintosh as before on the asus V 1155 socket it was ok

    Thx.

  17. Leo Garcia says:

I have an sr-2 and have tried d00d’s dsdt but I can’t get FireWire to work. I have the StarTech PEX1394B3 which is compatible and is recognized in 10.8.4 but I get the error “unable to list FireWire devices” which is an IRQ issue as far as I can tell. I have done all the IRQ edits I could find online but none work. Does your sr-2 dsdt allow for properly working firewire? Thank you for all you work.

  18. Sabik says:

I need support to setup video Ati HD5470, audio, wifi etc.. in Dell Studio 1558, already have ML2 iatkos running. but i can change resolution and the perfomance is terrible.

    Please Help

How much cost the support and how many time need to setup the hackintosh?

  19. DKMN says:

    Hey All,
Just a plug for RampageDev’s work, helpfulness, and expertise.
He spent a lot of time helping me get my P9X79WS working over the last year, doing DSDT edits, and even trying to get various unsupported graphics cards working (using dual GTX670’s now, a lot less painful…)
It is very obvious he has a much deeper level of understanding of hardware and low-level software than most in the Hackintosh community. I’d wasted a lot of time prior to this throwing kext’s at things and guessing how to edit my DSDT.
I basically paid for premium support after the fact because I was so grateful for the work here to advance these higher-end boards and LGA2011 in particular.
It’s obvious from reading InsanelyMac, tonymacx86, and Googling around that there’s a lot of confusion and wasted time out there. If you’re doing a high-end Hackintosh, the free info on this site is golden by itself, but I think it’s a no-brainer to save yourself the grief and hire premium support as well!
    David
PS. If only I had a mission for the SR-2… ;0

  20. Will says:

Hey there, grats on this brilliant project.
I’m thinking x79 deluxe + 4930k but I have a hard time figuring if this CPU is actually a viable option right now. Mind letting me now what you think?
    Keep up the excellent work
    Cheers

  21. DwarfJuglet says:

Can you please help me, I have sent you the form.

  22. Charles Elliott says:

I filled out the form for the premium Technical Support and sent you in an email, I just haven’t heard back from you yet.

  23. Emiliano says:

  25. Aaron says:

Considering a dual Xeon v2 workstation with either the Gigabyte GA-7PESH3 or the Asus Z9PE-D8 and would be interested in some Premium tech support to put OSX on it. You you have experience with either of these boards, or recommend one vs the other?

    thanks,

    • rampagedev says:

Asus one does work with last GEN CPUS. Working on a fix for the new gen.

      • aaron says:

Thanks. I am planning to use the v2 cpu’s so I may have to wait. I have a lot about the asus board having poor quality control and being a pain to get working, even for PC use, so I was hoping the Gigabyte board might be a better product. Have you had a chance to test it?

      • rampagedev says:

        Tested was limited…

      • aaron says:

OK, I’ll probably go with the Asus then if nobody is working on getting the Gigabyte board working in OSX. Intel makes a very nice dual Xeon workstation board W2600cr2 but it seems nobody has tried it for hackintosh. Its a shame as it is probably the most reliable dual xeon board around.

  26. Jon Marins says:

    Hello,
I emailed you a little earlier and you directed me to this form.
(Here is a link to my build : http://pcpartpicker.com/b/svTWGX)

I am looking for help from start to finish, I have tried a couple of times before to get this to work but could not for some reason. Looking around in forums I see there are several thongs someone has to do including download new drivers for the GTX 780ti as well as editing scripts to get cuda cores working.

All this stuff is beyond me and I really need something like a list of specific steps that are taylored to work with my hardware.

    Can you please help me?

    Thankyou,
    Babken Egoian

  29. Scott R says:

Rampage, are you still doing the premium tech support? I emailed you yesterday, but no reply, just wanted to check to see if you are still offering the service.

  30. Zanthros says:

I had RampageDev help me with my Dell 1720 laptop a while ago. He masterfully crafted me a DSDT for it and provided my with the support needed to take it to the top of the Geekbench charts! It holds the record (as of this writing) for the highest Geekbench 2 64bit score for the processor used (http://browser.primatelabs.com/geekbench2/search?dir=desc&q=x9000&sort=score)! The laptop also bests the Mac Book Pro model that the build was based on by almost 1000 points. Having a properly edited DSDT is a must for system stability and the use of the least amount of kexts. It produces a faster, stable and worry free system. Don’t use someone else’s DSDT as all systems are different and you really don’t know what you are getting. You get the best professional service here! Thanks RampageDev!

can i install yosemite/mavericks on this system

8 GB DDR3 Kingston HyperX dual channel
    AMD HD 5570 2 GB DDR3
    Samsung 18 inch monitor (1360×768)

  32. Kevin Sheth says:

I have a xfx r9-280x and mavericks does not recognize my GPU! So on the internet the solution was to flash to a older BIOS for the GPU to be recognized, it worked! But then (unfortunately), windows could not recognize my GPU and system report in Mac showed my vram as:116458284MB!!?
So I am now again on the original BIOS waiting for a patch! But is there any other way I can get my GPU working without the flashing? Please let me know and thanks!!

    • rampagedev says:

Should have use the Boot Loader to load the ROM.

      RMA the cards…

      • Kevin Sheth says:

        RMA?

      • Kevin Sheth says:

Ok so i just want to know that will your guide of atipersonalities editing work for me?
And i am on amd fx cpu so i cannot use clover and chamaleon does not recognize my card either! So bootloader option is gone! I tried flashing asus bios with my gpu and voila! It worked! BUT my gpu started crashing and all types of issues came along so i am back on xfx bios!! Please let me know! Thanks

  33. Pete says:

Hi…is the premium tech support still available? I have filled out the forum and emailed it to you.

    Thanks.

  34. Jerry L says:

Optical Drive: Asus DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS DVD/CD Writer

I have not fully decided on the GPU, however I will be getting the GTX 970 the actual variation will depend on the discounts this holiday season.

    • rampagedev says:

      Did you buy these parts?

      • Jerry L says:

I bought the motherboard, power supply, ram, and cpu cooler already. I plan to get the cpu and gpu during black friday and cyber monday. I chose the asrock motherboard since it was on sale and had a more updated network adapter than the similarly priced Gigabyte board.
