I’ve installed MAC on my Gigabyte GA-X79-UD5 motherboard with your DSDT, it’s marvelous!
Still, I’ve got an issue with my ethernet controller that I can’t figure out…
The thing is, when i install the ethernet driver from Multibeast 5.3.1, the LAN connection works when I reboot (as it should be), but when I start up my computer the next day, my LAN connection is gone. I have to reinstall the kext and reboot to get it working again (you can say that I’ve got a MAC with a short therm memory disorder 😉 ).
Also I’ve installed the newest hnak ethernet driver “AppleIntelE1000e.kext” with Kext Utility and got the same issue.
Do you know a solution for this problem?
With kind regards.
I’m using the installer from olarila.com to install OS X on my computer, they use the clover bootloader.
To set up my motherboard and (nearly) all features, I’m using the DSDT from this website together with Multibeast. For me, this seems the most convenient solution since I’m not realy skilled in MAC (kinda hoped I would be after installing it a fiew times)…

80% of the time, the ethernet driver is loaded properly on login, 20% of the time it doesn’t.
If i check the device manager when i’ve got no internet access, on the Ethernet controllern, the driver initializes “no” (no PCI-card is fond).
Otherwise it says “yes”.
Checked my MB BIOS (F12) , all featuerd are Enabled.
Don’t got a clue what could cause this ethernet issue.
I don’t got a myHack.kext in SLE (putted the ethernet kext in in dough), I’ve got no clue what kernel cache is…
Is this issue solvable?
With kind regards
i dont know if you got the prob sorted but i had a problem with my x79 ud5 once, the ethernet stopped working under os-x and would KP every now and then when booting and in win 7 would only transfer at 1 MB/s couldn’t work out what was wrong so i done a reset on the bios and it started working again
Hey there, first off , thanks for a the great support! you have helped me heaps with my setup!
Here is what i have:
GA-X79-UD3 mobo
i7 3930K @4.4ghz
MSI GTX 670
16gb ripjaws ram @ 1833mhz
Ive tried to install your DSDT in every which way on my GA-X79-UD3 on bios F8/F9/F11 and none want to boot.
ive resorted to using a DSDT-less boot with sleepenabler and voodooHDA for audio, its semi working, kind of getting a random larsen effect happening with the mic somehow looping into the output, but i would love to get the DSDT working! what can i do that will help?
Update: Ethernet driver doesn’t load if I boot my computer (PCI card issue). After a restart it works.
Also I figured out that KernelCache is enabled…
Could this be something in the MB DSDT?
I am running an X79-UD3 v1.1 on F11 with an ATI 6870 and a 6 core i7. I tried using the above DSDT.aml but end up sitting at “using 16384 buffer headers and 10240 cluster IO buffer headers”. If I remove the DSDT, everything boots fine. I didnt see any errors being thrown up to the point it hangs.
Any pointers for debugging this? I am assuming that something in the DSDT needs to be modified, but am not quite sure what that may be.
yes i would like to see this result myself as well. i have pretty much the same specs and i am worried whether i am ready to use mavericks with this hardware or not yet
I can’t boot from instaler unibeast ML 10.8.3
I use every combination with flags and always reboot. Not load graphical instaler.
This issue possible to fix?
please help
I have the same issue with the F4 bios. Were you successful? I tried this fix but it did not work….My video card is an ATi Radeon HD 7870. please help.
No, the screen goes black. The installation just hangs at the apple screen without -v. Is there any way to get a log file? Based on the forums, the new BIOS F4 released 9/5/13 enables Ivy-E support but disables Intel iSRT support. I cannot get back to F2. Don’t know why this would lock up the getting to the installer…
I’m currently running into some issues with installing Mavericks on my system.
GA-X79-UD3 F16
i7-3820
MSI 680GTX Lightning
I can get to the install screen using your method and even go through the install if I use the following commands: -v -x DSDT=no GraphicsEnabler=No cpus=1 npci=0x2000
I can then reboot, use the USB again with the same flags and go through your process of Extras Folder > Applications. SSDT > Applications. AppleIntelE1000e/FakeSMC with kext helper b7.
I downloaded chameleon and followed the picture. I’m still not able to boot though without the -x flag, and sometimes the -x flag doesn’t work either for safe boot. Any ideas/tips/information I could provide?
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I’m still relegated to safe mode booting. I attached a picture of where it stops if I do: -v ge=no pcirootuid=0 cpus=1 n pci=0x2000 http://sdrv.ms/1afHN2O
I had to install the VoodooTSSync.kext to boot without cpus=1.
My next hurdle is getting sound. I installed an AppleHDA.kext from a tonymac article that referenced my mobo but all I see now is virtual audio device and no sound. I’ll keep digging, thanks for all your assistance.
I saw that in the DMG and attempted to follow that github readme but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m assuming I did something wrong but I have no clue where those directions start.
I downloaded the zip, ran the command for mavericks, rebooted and nada. Do you have a link or any info on how that process is supposed to go?
i sent you an email … i know its kind of a rare board but i will be very grateful if you can make a sdsdt for it. i would also be glad to help you in any way i can .
The mach_kernel in Unibeast and MyHack sends me to a black screen when using -v, or just a white apple logo screen without -v. The kernel flags suggested in these pages doesn’t fix that. I did find a patched kernel at osx86.net for the 10.8.4 Ivy Bridge-E here:
This gets me booting, but I still can’t get to the installer.
MOBO: GA-X79-UP4
Processor: i7 4960x
The files on the dmg only work once you’re installed and booted in, correct? If so, do you have any suggestions? If not, where do I place these files in the Unibeast/MyHack install disk to get to the install screen?
And thanks for all your hard work for this community!
Considering that the version on the folder is the ssdt build number what you said is meaningless. Also the ssdt for all gb boards are the same. That said your issue is unrelated to the ssdt. What Gpu do you have?
I was using a GeForce 610 but have replaced it with an R9 290 which sort of works — needs to be in Slot 2 to be recognized by motherboard(!) — no QE/CI — needs chameleon in EFI. I’m waiting for better OS X support for this. Obviously it works in my triple boot Win7 setup (2 different 10.9 installs so I can play around).
If I boot with -v -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes, the system boots but doesn’t recognize the R9 290 (AMD Hawaii) and no QE/CI.
If I boot with GraphicsEnabler=No, the boot hangs after :
init
probe
start
DSMOS has arrived
[IOBluetoothHCIController][start] — Completed
_
After this hang, the fans sometimes speed up briefly if I click the mouse or keypad
Note that I put the SSDT.aml into EFI /Extras
and editited plist to Macpro6,1
Considering you have a completely unsupported card and working with a SMBIOS that you should not be using other then developers… use Mac Pro 5,1 SMBIOS for now. And try adding the device ID to the AMD drivers.
Hi rampagedev, thanks for SSDT, mavericks works fine with my GA-X79-UP4 (F4 bios), i7 4930K and gigabyte nvidia GTX780.. BUT OS runs really slow, long response times, lazy animations, like 3-5FPS., I tested graphic acceleration by launching screensaver, move in chess game.. everything seems to work, but extremly slow,..I replaced mach_kernel, install VooDooTSCsync.kext and tried setup multibeast once with DSDT-free and now with user DSDT. Im booting with GraphicsEnabler=No cpus=1…. THANKS FOR HELP,)
AMDRadeonX4000.kext and
AMD7000Controller.kext and added the device ID 0x67b11002 … didn’t make a difference when 5,1 so I also tried 6,1 and tried both GE=yes/no
There is a section in AMDRAdeonX4000 about the Hawaii GPU and a similar device (0x67b01002) but this wasn’t in AMD7000Controller so either I’m still missing something or else need to wait for a new kext for Hawaii.
I realize this is bleeding edge just thought you might have an idea
Hi, I’m actually trying to install 10.8 on my GA-X79-UP4 F4 Rev:1.1 with a i7 4930K and GTX 670.
I’ve read all the comments and I figured out it should work, but I can’t even get to the installer. I’ve tried -v cpus=1 npci=0×2000 and some other bootflags. I’ve tried the Unibeast and some other ML Installer from Hackintosh Montreal.
Your DMG sounds successsful, but I just can’t get OSX Installed. Any ideas? Thnx a lot!
I’ve tried a lot of bootflags, but the installer always hang somwhere and even sometimes look like a kernel panic hangin at system uptime in nanoseconds..
Do you guys have any suggestions? Thnx!
How do I get my bootloader to continue without my intervention? ATM I have to hit enter for machine to boot. (this is bad when I need to do remote restarts)
Bad installer. Just follow my Mavericks install guide and replace the Kernel before the first boot on both the USB and HDD/SSD (post install) and it will go fine.
I have all the verbose going down. First, there is a batch with bigger character that look like 8 bit. (READ HFS:…) and the a second versbose that look cleaner. Few fast lines after a line that started with NVIDIAGK load… I got a white screen without the apple.
Considering I have GA-X79-UP4, 4930K and GTX670, I’ve boot with -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
Didn’t try enough hard HAHA! Only have to add GraphicsEnabler=No -x and that’it, the installer is goin’on! YEAH! What a great feelings to build hackintosh!
Ok, now I’m stuck. OSX Install guide, my hack, Part4, 3. I’ve tried couples of flags and there is only the verbose with READ HFS. then I got a black screen… Nothing happens..
If you told me to paste the mach kernel to my SSD with OSX, honestly I can’t figure out how to paste a file on a drive on which I can’t even boot on… It’s nonsenses, right?
OS X installation done. But I can’t get Chameleon installed.I always get the boot screen as the one we have on the myHack installer. I’ve follow your Chameleon Bootloader guide. didn’t work and simply install via the guide inside the X79 DMG didn’t work too. I’ve tried Clover and I only see the EFI partition. According to the screenshot you gave us in the DMG beside the bootloader, I’ve checked the same things…
Any ideas?
Actually, with the post install done, including chameleon via the package, the SSDT and the kexts, I can boot without the USB and without flags. But here’s the bootloader I’ve to pass through: http://s22.postimg.org/cfpdpmxsh/IMG_8000.jpg
Hi…
I have succesfully installed OSX Mavericks on GA-X79-UP4 1.1 bios F5, 4930K and GTX650Ti… Thanks for dmg… all works fine but… but I have two problems: First problem: the sound played by the card on the board and the external USB sound card is broken, crackling… Second problem: the system time rush a few seconds to a minute, but only in the system time in the BIOS / UEFI is displayed correctly … maybe my motherboard is damaged?
Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
On external USB sound card is only Fp=48kHz… this is native frequency on this card… broken audio is for all media (like video, audio and movie files on disk, streamed video on YT etc.). This motherboard has 5 days it is brand new, clock in uefi working correctly… problem is in system… maybe not working HPET correctly…
Hey ntpeeter, I had the same issue with 2 different usb sound cards, what I ended up doing was a fresh install (reformat, reinstall) and this fixed my issue. I have 10.9.2 13C59 running on 2 different hard drives with almost the exact same setup as you except that instead of the GTX650Ti, I have a GTX760 SC. Before I did a fresh install, I had stuttery audio (at best) where it would constantly crackle, or play for 5 seconds or so, then repeat sections. Now everything is top notch! Thanks for all your hard work rampagedev!!
Hey CorpNewt, new installation does not correct the abnormal playback of sound and image, I installed a few times and the same thing. The problem is the motherboard bios and exactly two internal clocks TSC and / or HPET and read by the operating system UNIX, and in some cases Win8. The problem can also occur in the correct indication of system time, see the clock slow down. The problem is also described on page http://phoronix.com/forums/showthread.php?92417-TSC-Problem-on-Gigabyte-GA-X79-UP4- (rev-1-1) so far without a hardware solution from the motherboard manufacturer. In my case, the problem partially solved by installing the 10.8.5 ML with its original mach_kernel + VoodooTSCSync.kext from the pack rampagedev. Perhaps 10.9.2 solves the problem of erroneous reading of internal clocks. Regards
Hey, just updated to 10.9.2 and re-added the applehda.kext built from toledo(I think that’s the name) where you run the command script for 898-92. Used Kext Helper to drop it in and I’m still not receiving any sound. Virtual Audio Device has no controls. Any ideas?
ga-x79-up4, 4930k, EVGA GTX-780 3GB. Trying several approaches but always end up on a panic on AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement.
Using Chameleon boot loader. Installed the GA kexts & Nvidia SSDT in the 1.1 GA folder. I’ve copied over the mach_kernel to the root of the target drive and setup the boot loader per the image.
Boot up in safe mode then install the motherboard drivers and reboot. I have that exact setup and had that exact issue. Also, make sure you aren’t overclocked during install.
I won’t be able to test it myself, for I have canceled my order for a Gigabyte MB, but to all the owners of a Gigabyte GA-X79-UD3 I’ve created special BIOSes based on a pre-Ivy bridge supported BIOSes (F14 and just in case F12). These have all the OPROMs updated and – most importantly – contain the latest IVY Microcode.
Please test and report if Power Management gives you a Kernel Panic. Link: http://rghost.ru/53201884
In case you have a different motherboard from Gigabyte – obtain an old BIOS without Ivy-E support and update it with Ivy-E Microcode through UBU tools (Unified Bios Updater).
Searching on Softpedia is one way of doing it. Once you get a direct link to the bios just lower the version number in it until you get a bios compiled before last summer.
Greetings, I am looking at your motherboards and am not sure which DSDT file I should use for this http://www.newegg.ca/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813138346 motherboard I have purchased off of NewEgg. Any help is appreciated as I am COMPLETE total noob at the hackintosh scene.
Greetinx!
I succeeded installing 10.9.2 on my Gigabyte X79-UD3 with 4930k and GTX650 with help of your guides. All works after using your X79.dmg for this motherboard. Also I installed the bootloader Chameleon. The strange thing is that I only can boot from USB and choose the MAC from the SSD all works fine but as soon as I remove the USB and I reboot the machineI see the MAC in the Chameleon bootloader and when I press enter there I get an CPU error 0x0. The:
SMcputype
1281
is added to Smbios.plist and is in the extra folder.
What is sill wrong here? can you advice me?
What do you mean with ID? Is that the 1281?
What should I do to be able to boot the MAC from SSD directly? Make changed somewhere in a config or install a different bootloader?
Tanx in advance 🙂
And that is the one I used. I used your file and when I boot into the mac I see that value in SMBIOS in the extra folder. But can you give me a hint why the mac is not booting from the ssd?
Well I changed the value back to 2561 and the result is the same. Booting with USB and pointing to MAC install works but without the USB insert directly a kernel panic: https://mega.co.nz/#!EFk3kB5D!791sp2S8-a9iGFicnldhq4qYJYLay-_t6FDnTEE0AdQ
What can I do? Should I install Clover? I really hope you can point me in a right direction.
Tanx in advance
Thanks rampagedev 🙂 Maverick successfully installed on GA-X79-UP4, 4930k. What a pity that I need to use NullCPU with this board, however it’s a recommended MB from tonymacx86 !
Has this PM gigabyte bug always been present on all X79 MB ?
I think I will switch to Asus X79 Deluxe. Is this motherboard MSR E2 unlocked ? Can we have native power mangement with this MB ?
Hey rampagedev. I was trying to create a hackintosh using the UNIBEAST method. I have a 4820k and a Ga up4 x79. I entered cpus=1 as well as npci=0x2000 and started to get to the installer screen. The problem is that the pc ran excruciatingly slow and the curser lagged. Any Solutions?
I’ve used the MYHACK method following the instructions. Every time I got to the installer my monitor would lose signal indefinitely. I tried every code I could think of to no avail. So I decided to try the UNIBEAST method. Is there some incompatibility between my board and the latest version of OSX?
I just finished my first built but I am having problems with my ram.
My setup:
GA-X79-UP4, i7 4930k, 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB), GTX760.
Unfortunately, Mavericks only recognizes 24gigs of ram.
Bios shows 4×8 gigs… Any solutions?
hi, i but this mother GIGABYTE GA-X79S-UP5-Wifi, im install maverick 10.9.3 all works perfect, but the only problem is the 8 sas connectos in the mother, when i connect SATA disk, there is not recognize by the OSx. what can i do? i need to connect normal sata disk there in this sas connectors. thank you.
Please, i read the manual, and i dont found the specific item, only said that in sas connectors works SATA hard disk, anything else. please please tell me here, transcribe the data here, please i need to know if i must change the mother for other.
I managed to install 10.9.4 using Myhack using your guides but I ran into a couple of issues: 1) 1Password doesn’t work, which is a known issue with Mavericks, and 2) a lot of processes die after sleep. In spite of those issues, I made a donation 😉
So I decided to install 10.8.5, the version I also have on my 2008 Mac Pro. However when I boot (-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000) the screen turns black after the long list of loaded kexts. If I leave out the “-v”, I get the grey apple screen, but no rotating wheel.
Ah, I see. I’d rather put effort in getting 10.9 working properly than finding out how to patch a kernel for 10.8. So 10.8.5 is a no-go then with this CPU.
Any idea why processes in 10.9.4 keep dying after I wake my system from sleep? It’s all kind of processes: ubd, different helper processes, SMART-reporter, you name it. And every time it’s different processes that refuse to come back.
Well, both problems went away when I did a clean install of 1Password over a fresh 10.9.4 install and did NOT use the Migration Assistant to copy all my applications (I had over 200 apps in my Applications folder, so I thought I had a good excuse to use the migration assistant). So after almost 15 years of upgrading, I finally have to do a reinstall of most of my applications. I hope I can find all the licenses.
Leaves me with one issue: audio. I installed the audio device per your guide, 2 line outs show up, but which ever one I select, no sound. How can I check this was properly installed?
Finally for everything to work. I tried an Asus X79 Deluxe for a short while, but that board had an issue with one of the memory channels and the same sleep issues as the Gigabyte board. So I swapped my Gigabyte back, updated the BIOS to F20 (apparently Windows users have similar sleep issues with boot cycles and everything and there this solution was mentioned) and now sleep seems to work. Both a forced sleep from the Apple menu and an automatic ‘Energy Saver’ sleep after a fixed period seem to give no problems. The system also came back after an overnight sleep of eight hours.
When swapping back the boards, I did not reinstall the boot disk, but I put the SSDT.aml for the Gigabyte from the X79 dmg back into /Extra, reinstalled the native AppleHDA.kext from the MyHack USB stick with Kext Helper and then reran the alc898-94 command. All channels show up in the Sound preference, but I get no sound. Did I miss something here?
I’m trying to build the Xeon 2.8 10 core with GA-X79-UP4 rev1.1, does this installer work with this proposed build? Also, have some users had kernel panics on the machines used to run myhack (for another hackintosh system drive)? Thank you
Board won’t work with that CPU under mac. Buy the Asus x79 Deluxe. The gigabyte boards are worthless in the end due to there horrid BIOS which issues include not being able to support Power management under Mac OS X among other issues. Sorry you bought the wrong board.
Is it not possible to get OS X running on these boards, or just not full fuctionality? I’m stuck on the multibeast method at MAC framework successfully initialized . . . before the usb installer runs

Your the first I have heard/ recall. Are you using kernel cache? Do you have a myHack.kext in SLE?
You don`t have anything about Intel X79 Like DX79SI or DX79TO
Over priced boards so not that many users have them.

Must be a IRQ issue. You will need a custom DSDT made.
Update: Ethernet driver doesn’t load if I boot my computer (PCI card issue). After a restart it works.

Could this be something in the MB DSDT?
HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE DSDT. Turn off Kernel Cache and test. Just sounds like a cold boot issue.

Thanks,

Sounds like the plugin is playing hell with your GPU. Remove the plugins from inside FakeSMC.
Thanks for the tip, unfortunately I’m still relegated to safe mode booting. I attached a picture of where it stops if I do: -v ge=no pcirootuid=0 cpus=1 n pci=0x2000

Still looks to be hung on the GPU…
So, all is working with just -v.
Audio solution is all on the DMG…
I saw that in the DMG and attempted to follow that github readme but it doesn’t seem to be working. I’m assuming I did something wrong but I have no clue where those directions start.
I downloaded the zip, ran the command for mavericks, rebooted and nada. Do you have a link or any info on how that process is supposed to go?
Email me a IOreg.
Got it working! Thanks!
Ignore the idiot above. He forgot to turn off vt-d
haha
All working but sound not 😦
I installed VoodooHDA but I don’t have 5.1…..
Can you help me with the sound? Please
I also have a problem with booltloader chameleon,
In boot disk, I find myself with odd character.
So I have to start from the USB key
Sorry for my bad english.
Remove that kext and use the SSDT with patched AppleHDA.
I copy SSDT file in extra folder but where I can find AppleHDA ?
Follow the link for your boards ALC…
In kext folder, I can find two link, ALC892 and ALC898. How do I know which one is mine?
Thanks for your help
Finaly mine is ALC898, I installed it and it work !
Thank you very much !
See. 🙂 lol
Look on your MB support page.
the dsdt’s for GIGABYTE GA-X79-UD7 and GIGABYTE G1.Assassin 2 Motherboards are missing from the dmg file
Email me. I have not had any users with that board in over a year.
thewho329@yahoo.com
i sent you an email … i know its kind of a rare board but i will be very grateful if you can make a sdsdt for it. i would also be glad to help you in any way i can .
did you get my files ?
Core i7 4930K works on hackintosh?
Yes.
The mach_kernel in Unibeast and MyHack sends me to a black screen when using -v, or just a white apple logo screen without -v. The kernel flags suggested in these pages doesn’t fix that. I did find a patched kernel at osx86.net for the 10.8.4 Ivy Bridge-E here:
http://www.osx86.net/files/file/40-10-8-4-haswell-ivy-bridge-e-lapic-fix-kernel/
Copy the modded kernel to the HDD/SSD you install mac to. Then you can boot. Apple changed how the kernel gets installed.
hello
I’m currently running into some issues with installing Mavericks on my system.
x79-up4 F4
i7 4820k
ati 6850 video card
I think the cpu is not supported
See other reply.
My ga-x79-up4 is version 1.1 … the DMG only has version 1.0.
I copied the SSDT for v1.0 to /extras but the system wouldn’t boot without -v -f -x
BTW CPU is 4930x
Considering that the version on the folder is the ssdt build number what you said is meaningless. Also the ssdt for all gb boards are the same. That said your issue is unrelated to the ssdt. What Gpu do you have?
I was using a GeForce 610 but have replaced it with an R9 290 which sort of works — needs to be in Slot 2 to be recognized by motherboard(!) — no QE/CI — needs chameleon in EFI. I’m waiting for better OS X support for this. Obviously it works in my triple boot Win7 setup (2 different 10.9 installs so I can play around).
I’ve installed the beta of 10.9.2
If I boot with -v -f GraphicsEnabler=Yes, the system boots but doesn’t recognize the R9 290 (AMD Hawaii) and no QE/CI.
WORKING! just needed to install last chameleon bootloader with ivy bridge support,)
So basically you failed to follow the read me on the DMG. 😉 Got it…
Your booting with CPUS=1… thats the issue.
I forgot to mention that I had edited both the:
Any ideas? Thnx a lot!
Modded kernel on the dmg.
I’ve tried a lot of bootflags, but the installer always hang somwhere and even sometimes look like a kernel panic hangin at system uptime in nanoseconds..
Do you guys have any suggestions? Thnx!
Post a pic…
How do I get my bootloader to continue without my intervention? ATM I have to hit enter for machine to boot. (this is bad when I need to do remote restarts)
…I just had to remove the redundant flags that were on my bootloader. All good now.

Here’s the picture
Remake the USB installer.
And thats it or i still have to replace the kernel?
Bad installer. Just follow my Mavericks install guide and replace the Kernel before the first boot on both the USB and HDD/SSD (post install) and it will go fine.
I have all the verbose going down. First, there is a batch with bigger character that look like 8 bit. (READ HFS:…) and the a second versbose that look cleaner. Few fast lines after a line that started with NVIDIAGK load… I got a white screen without the apple.
Considering I have GA-X79-UP4, 4930K and GTX670, I’ve boot with -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
Any ideas? Thanks a lot!
Kernel needs to be on the other drive. Terminal from the installer and or USB dock for the drive on another mac.
lol
Add: GraphicsEnabler=No
Do you have a tutorial about copying the mach_kernel from the USB to the drive via the terminal? Thnx
Any ideas?
End user error. What you just told me is that you keep booting off the USB.
Actually, with the post install done, including chameleon via the package, the SSDT and the kexts, I can boot without the USB and without flags. But here’s the bootloader I’ve to pass through: http://s22.postimg.org/cfpdpmxsh/IMG_8000.jpg
Press Enter.
Yes I know I can press Enter, but there isn’t any themes? I also don’t have smbios in my Extra Folder, is it related? Thnx for your replies btw!
Install a Theme if you want one… I do not use one as its just another thing that is cosmetic.
Make a SMBIOS. I provided one on the DMG so not sure how you do not have it installed.
Change play back feq. for the Audio. Bad CMOS battery perhaps for the Time issue…
This system will act as a video editing station and working properly audio / video is the most important …
Its not hardware related or BIOS related…
Hey ntpeeter, I had the same issue with 2 different usb sound cards, what I ended up doing was a fresh install (reformat, reinstall) and this fixed my issue. I have 10.9.2 13C59 running on 2 different hard drives with almost the exact same setup as you except that instead of the GTX650Ti, I have a GTX760 SC. Before I did a fresh install, I had stuttery audio (at best) where it would constantly crackle, or play for 5 seconds or so, then repeat sections. Now everything is top notch! Thanks for all your hard work rampagedev!!
If you change the playback freq it can fix that issue…
Any ideas?
Oops. GA-x79-UD3.
You just answered your own question…
Perhaps I’m slow. How so? ga-x79-ud3 is 898 according to the specifications on gigabyte website. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4050#sp
Thought it had ALC892…
I tried the 892 kext and have only the virtual audio device output and still no control. Bleh.
Read the audio documentation. Its not patching obviously lol.
I’ll give it a shot! 🙂
I will certainly try it!
ga-x79-up4, 4930k, EVGA GTX-780 3GB.
Any help is much appreciated thanks.
Keep testing as I do not have a GB board. Try clover… you never know.
Good luck.
Searching on Softpedia is one way of doing it. Once you get a direct link to the bios just lower the version number in it until you get a bios compiled before last summer.
Hi Mr. Blah,
Nice work!
Can this also work on the x79-ud3 rev V1.1 with Ivy E Xeon v2?
I can’t find any information if they ever released an lower bios version then F16

Thanks,
Michael
We no longer use DSDT as we use SSDT’s…
Email me a IOreg and DSDT extract and I can make a SSDT for this board and add support to the DMG.
Thanx
Not supported ID…
What do you mean with ID? Is that the 1281?
What should I do to be able to boot the MAC from SSD directly? Make changed somewhere in a config or install a different bootloader?
Tanx in advance 🙂
The one on the DMG in the SMBIOS is the one to use.
And that is the one I used. I used your file and when I boot into the mac I see that value in SMBIOS in the extra folder. But can you give me a hint why the mac is not booting from the ssd?
Thats not the one you used. You told me that you used 1281…
2561 is the value in the SMBIOS.
I’m gonna check it tomorrow 🙂 i might have changed it because what you wrote in your tutorial here at the top thanks for your reply.
You have to install NullCPU with 10.9.2 on GB boards. In updated DMG.
Man u r the best! That did the job very well…thank you so much for your patience 🙂 Another happy Hackintosh owner becuz of you.
lol. No problem. You can blame GB for the issue with there BIOS. Don’t forget to consider a donation!
No prob…donation is on it’s way….
Gigabyte BIOS are all broken. The other boards from other manufactures are fine.
I was thinking Asus boards were msr e2 locked. So, it’s a good news. I will switch from Gigabyte to Asus 🙂
Latest BIOS are unlocked and some of the old ones are as well.
Thanks a lot for your quick reply rampagedev.
How about using the method I approve here or you can continue to use a broken installer…
I’ve used the MYHACK method following the instructions. Every time I got to the installer my monitor would lose signal indefinitely. I tried every code I could think of to no avail. So I decided to try the UNIBEAST method. Is there some incompatibility between my board and the latest version of OSX?
That GPU.
What GPU?
Gtx 780 reference msi model
GraphicsEnabler=No is what you need.
Hi rampagedev,
I just finished my first built but I am having problems with my ram.
My setup:
GA-X79-UP4, i7 4930k, 32GB G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 32GB (4 x 8GB), GTX760.
Unfortunately, Mavericks only recognizes 24gigs of ram.
Bios shows 4×8 gigs… Any solutions?
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Re seat the ram.
Impressive work, just used your SSDT for my Gigabyte GA-X79-UP4 and i have sound, it even detected my DELL sound outputs.
Words can’t describe how thankful I’m that you dedicated time for this.
Thanks.
Don’t forget to consider a donation. Enjoy.
Sure, isn’t much but i did some right now. I will keep an eye around here.
Thanks.
hi, i but this mother GIGABYTE GA-X79S-UP5-Wifi, im install maverick 10.9.3 all works perfect, but the only problem is the 8 sas connectos in the mother, when i connect SATA disk, there is not recognize by the OSx. what can i do? i need to connect normal sata disk there in this sas connectors. thank you.
Please read the motherboard manual as the answer is in there.
Please, i read the manual, and i dont found the specific item, only said that in sas connectors works SATA hard disk, anything else. please please tell me here, transcribe the data here, please i need to know if i must change the mother for other.
You need a Xeon CPU to have the SAS ports on a C606 Chipset to work.
Is it safe to update my BIOS or the DSDT (SSDT) are bios version specific?
There is no DSDT any more and read the Read Me. The Read Me is there for you the end user to Read.
Hi Rampagedev,
Here’s my setup:
GA-X79-UD3
i7 4930k
Gigabyte GT610
OWC Mercury Accelsior_E2 PCIe SSD (boot)
Crucial MX100 + 2 Seagate Barracuda ST3000DM001 in a Fusion drive (data)
I managed to install 10.9.4 using Myhack using your guides but I ran into a couple of issues: 1) 1Password doesn’t work, which is a known issue with Mavericks, and 2) a lot of processes die after sleep. In spite of those issues, I made a donation 😉
So I decided to install 10.8.5, the version I also have on my 2008 Mac Pro. However when I boot (-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000) the screen turns black after the long list of loaded kexts. If I leave out the “-v”, I get the grey apple screen, but no rotating wheel.
Any suggestions on how to get this further?
Unsupported with your CPU with the stock kernel.
I dont support sleep so..
Hi rampagedev,
Finally for everything to work.
You have ALC1150 on the Deluxe.
Hi,
I’m trying to build the Xeon 2.8 10 core with GA-X79-UP4 rev1.1, does this installer work with this proposed build? Also, have some users had kernel panics on the machines used to run myhack (for another hackintosh system drive)? Thank you
Board won’t work with that CPU under mac. Buy the Asus x79 Deluxe. The gigabyte boards are worthless in the end due to there horrid BIOS which issues include not being able to support Power management under Mac OS X among other issues. Sorry you bought the wrong board.
Is it not possible to get OS X running on these boards, or just not full fuctionality? I’m stuck on the multibeast method at MAC framework successfully initialized . . . before the usb installer runs
Post a pic.
