I have one problem, when i try bot with this flags:
-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
Try multiple different flags with the same result
Can’t initiate, system send me this error:

First of all thank you for the excellent guide. I followed it step by step but when I get to the point where I start the installer, it starts to run and then hangs with this screen:
I have tried just about every combination I can think of. NVidia injection is off by default so I tried checking the box and the same result. I’ve tried GraphicsEnabler=No and nv_disable=1, but I figured that, that wouldn’t matter since it isn’t in your Clover guide and is used only for MyHack.
If it helps, I have an ASUS GA-Z77X-UD5H and a GTX670 with an i7-3770k.
That’s a fair point. The reason I was trying a lot of options was because I honestly wasn’t expecting such a quick reply. I moved the installer to another USB port and it completed successfully. Thanks for your help!
Ok, so I have Yosemite installed as per step 9 of Part 7. Step 10 says to move on to Part 4. Am I correct to assume you mean Part 8?
At this point, I am able to boot into Yosemite but only if I boot from the USB drive I made using your instructions. I will admit I’m completely new to Clover. I had been using Chameleon up until now.
I did try running the Clover installer on my system drive using the settings you provide for the USB drive, but it doesn’t work. I have a second drive that runs Windows 7, and without the booting from USB, it just boots Windows 7.
I realize that it is a problem with something I am doing. Can you offer any guidance? Your guide says to move on to Part 4, but Part 4 is where you are setting up the USB drive. I am just looking for where to look next because the rest of your steps are unclear to me.
Hello, First of all, I’m a complete noob to hackintoshing, and I have a couple of questions, hopefully not to dumb :S
Do you have any plans to post the AMD guide any time soon? I’ve tried googleing around for other guides, but with no success.
Also, I know it’ll be more involved, but is the process for AMD CPUs similar to the Intel one?
If it helps at all with the guide, here are my specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte 970A-DS3P
CPU: AMD FX6300
GPU: AMD R9 270
My system is:
ASROCK X79 EXTREME9
Corsair 32GB DDR3 1600Mhz Dominator
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB
Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Processor
I am trying to install mavericks 10.9.4 with clover but I am stuck on Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport. I read in a earlier answer from you it is the GPU can this be the case? I have a ASUS 650 TI 2 GB also should I try this instead?
That didn’t work still the same issue:
**** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] — Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport
But I also noticed that I have this:
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory…!
I have done the Installer USB followed your guide and Kexts etc. accordantly:
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/ and replace default config.plist with attached config.plist found in “X79 DSDT” FOLDER
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9/ and add FakeSMC.kext
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9/ and add NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ remove VBoxHfs-64.efi and add HFSPlus.efi
A other issue I have is when I Remove Clover installer USB from my PC and put the Clover installer USB in my Mac I can’t see the EFI folder anymore. How come?!
I have installed the ASUS GTX650 card and I have the same issue:
**** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] — Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport
And
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory…!
The good thing due is that the BOIS don’t reset my CSM to enabled.
these are my specs:
– AsRock Z77 Extreme4 (Patched BIOS 2.70)
– i5 3570k
– AMD HD 7950
– SSD 840 Pro 256 Gb
– 8 Gb RAM Corsair Vengeance
i have a problem: since i need to run also win7 on my machine, i need to keep CMS enabled.
Iv’e managed to install 10.9.3 with clover disabling CMS, and the only “problem” was that i had 2 monitor showed by system info (1 HD4000 and 1 AMD HD 7950) even if i have both cable connected to a single one.
Enabling CSM causes me to only been able to reach the desktop screen with -x argument. Without -x i’m getting stuck at verbose screen with bluetooth error. Even when i can reach the screen with -x argument i see like 3 desktop overlapped on the sides, showed up on the upper part of my monitor.
I think this is related to Graphic kext, what do you suggest me to do?
Shall i edit the Framebuffer personality (Even if you wrote that is not needed anymore with newer OS)?
Ok, i’ve managed to solve dual link, and also i can boot with CSM enabled. I’ve injected ATI and FB (Hamachi) in clover boot option, and in safe mode boots fine and shows the right video card, but i have some graphic glitches when i move windows, open menu, seems that it’s not working as it should. If i try to booot in verbose only, i’m getting stuck on [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] — Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport!
Do you suggest to edit personalities or it isn’t needed anymore? What do you suggest?
Hi Rampagedev, thanks for all the useful info. I’m building my new hackintosh (made sure everything is compatible), just waiting on a few parts left.
Here’s my situation tho:
I own a macbook pro and I wanted to use its SSD (backing it up first) (OSX 10.8.5) for the new build, would I have to wipe it out and follow all the steps or is this an advantage and it would save me some?
This is my main doubt before I start working on it
what do you mean exactly? i use clover bootloader without kext-dev-mode=1…kext install and repair permissions with kext wizard. then i boot the machine incl. -s in boot args and /sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/mount -uw /
kextcache -prelinked-kernel
exit
will not load the kexts! after that i boot with -f, same issue. the kexts will not load.
Your on your own since you failed to follow the guide provided and mixed other methods. If you follow the the guide you can avoid the issues you have created.
Worked for me after some trial and error. Thank you so much for your work. I am currently running 10.9.5 without error and it is brilliant. Will be updating to 10.10 in the near future.
Having what I believe is the same issue. Clover is installed onto the USB correctly however the “Boot OS X from Install OS X” drive does not even attempt to boot.
Installed 10.10 with Chameleon on Asus X79 Sabertooth, i7 3930k CPU, Nvidia (EVGA) 680 GTX, 32GB DDR3 1600MHz RAM, all used to work well with your Mavericks DSDT. Now with Yosemite and Chameleon 2.2svn r2399, Chameleon fails to boot and reports, “Memory allocation error! Addr: 0x85cd128, Size: 0xa931, File: free, Line: 0. This is a non recoverable error! System HALTED!!!” Followed the install guide above. Any obvious oversights I may have made?
Do you know that with myHack method when you’re about to “Choose your install type…” All they have for OS selection is 10.9, 10.8, 10.7, 10.6. There is no 10.10 in there just a heads up.
I am not able to do the work USB3.0. None of the front or rear USB3.0 are working. Only USB2.0. The audio, video, etc are working. You know how I do to work all USB3.0 ??
Rampage IV Extreme – i7 3930k – Radeon 7970.
Yes, I followed your tutorial, I just follow it to install the system from the 10.9, at 10.9.4 and now 10.10. The only difference was that the installation of the system I used the Fusion Drive (your tutorial). After installation is just like your site, I just used the Kexts in DMG except for the audio I follow the Toleda as stated in your DMG.
I do not know what’s going wrong with USB3.0, also do not know why you told me I not follow your tutorial, I just follow it. In 10.9 managed to install USB3.0 perfectly at all times that i reinstalled the system.
Sabertooth x79 – i7_3930k – GTX 780
Audio do not work. USB 3.0 do not work even with the driver on x79 DMG. Where do you set the SMbios? To recognise that is Mac Pro 6,1.
There are issues with that SMBIOS since 10.9.5 as I stated here on this site.
Use the audio patch provided on the DMG for 10.10 as it does work.
USB 3.0 kext works on all systems tested during testing with the DP and GM with your board and many other. Post a IOreg if you want more in-depth answers about your issue.
Question?
When using NVIDIA Driver manager I am not able to switch from OS X Graphics Driver to NVIDIA Web driver. I am able to switch it in the pane and it says to reboot but when i do it reverts back to OS X Default.
Any ideas?
There must be another way to do this. Is it really a must to disable CSM? I have tried Clover, Chameleon USB Installer and I cannot get audio/cpu management to work correctly. My sounds pops at first play of anything then it does not do it again. My benchmark(geekbench) are no where close to 10.9.5 levels. I even tried tony’s install crap since I’m so desperate and I still get no joy. i7-4930k, gtx 780. I also must continue to use npci=0x2000 because my screen goes to black every single frelling time and I can see activity on my HDD lights… so the machine must continue to load to the login screen. I almost think 10.10 is no where ready for hackintosh purposes. I may fall back to 10.9.5 after tonight since its 2days since I tried 10.10 install.
So I did a fresh install of 10.10 using a real mac. Then ran clover on the new ssd.Moved SSD to Gigiabyte GA-X79-UD3, 4930k, Nvidia 520. Was fine on 10.9. Put Kexts and ssdt in appropriate folders as per the guide. Booted with :
-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
kext-dev-mode=1
Hangs on GeForceSensors (pci2) started.
Thanks for this tuto 🙂
I’m trying to install Yosemite with your Clover method for many hours now… 😥
When I try to boot with the commons boot flags, my install stop at “DSMOS has arrived”
Picture : http://bit.ly/ZDAggl
I’ve to enter this : ” -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 ” in Options > Boot Args ; right ?
My PC :
_ Intel Core i7 4930K
_ Zotac GeForce GTX 780 Ti AMP Edition – 3 Go
_ Asus P9X79
_ Corsair Hydro Series – H100i
_ G.Skill Kit Extreme3 4 x 4 Go PC12800 ARES CAS9
_ Corsair AX860i Modulaire – 860W

So I’m using the latest X79 DMG. Sound is offline still after running “audio_realtekALC-100.command”. I rebooted right after running the command on terminal because it looks like it installs it but since nothing happened, the command also leaves a folder on the desktop so I installed the appleHDA kext using KextHelper but still no sound in Output section in System Preferences after reboot. Geek bench values are still lower by 5k points than 10.9.5.
This are the kexts I installed from tonight’s x79 DMG:
FakeSMC.kext
GenericUSBXHCI Beta
AppleIntelCPUPowerManagement
Chameleon — Extra folder copy to Macintosh HD
Move the necessary Nvidia SSDT.aml, SSDT-1 and SSDT-2
Rebooted
Ran audio_ALC892-10.10 command to generate the AppleHDA kext
Rebooted. No sound still and processor is not scaling properly based on intel power gadget.
I will continue on and try other full install ideas and even fix/repair permissions and will report back.
Hi rampagedev, thanks fot great work, I have some troubles with your guide.
1. I created USB installation drive successfully with your clover script, it boots up, but when I mounted the EFI of USB in Mavericks it was completely blank. No folders, nothing. I copied the folders structure from my Mavericks EFI (on my Mavericks drive Installation Clover works without any problems). Is it a problem of mine or did you miss something in your guide?
2. I can’t install Yosemite, after 5-10 Minutes of loading my Monitor turns off and nothing more happens. I have a native EVGA GeForce GTX 770 and I am wondering what must I do now? Do I need GraphicsEnabler=No or something else? Can you please add a part in your guide which graphic cards needs some more flags and which not? And what must I do now?
3. I used config.plist for clover from my motherboard dmg from your site (x79-up4), but I have added some more SMBIOS strings for MacPro6,1 identification there. Can it affect my Graphic Problem?
You failed to follow my install guide and edited my files creating your own issue. Do not modify my files as you will create issues such as this one. If tou had not edited the files you would have been able yo boot. Start over and this time only use the files provided and nothing more. Ok.
Did all from the start again, now it all works. Can only advise you to place TRIM and JMicron Controller kexts for HDD to x79. I took them from Multibeast and without it all HDD are displayed as external and are orange.
Thank you for awesome tutorial – did clean install of 10.10, everything works as it should work ! But then i ran in to trouble. Before installing, not to mess things up, i disconnected all other hdd and ssd drives. Config before installation of 10.10 :
1×120 GB Kingstone SSD ( 10.9 and apps )
1x1GB WD Caviar ( data, user profiles for 10.9 )
4×1 GB WD Caviar drives as apple raid ( video disk )
1×120 GB Kingstone SSD ( windose 7 )
1×1 GB WD Caviar ( windose user files and projects )
Config after installing 10.10 :
hardware the same
1×120 GB Kingstone SSD – installed 10.10 and clover on EFI partition
And here is the problem – after i connect all hard disk drives of apple raid volume clover, doe ‘s not boot, shoves blank, black screen with no menus e.t.c. If i disconnect one drive – everything is ok, boots like a charm. Any ideas, suggestions ?
Yes, i did fresh install on SSD using your install method, installed Clover after installing 10.10. Problem appears only when i connect other hdd drives. Without other hdd drives system starts and runs great.
connected all HDD drives and SSD drive where 10.10 is installed
plugged in USB install flash with Clover installed on EFI partition
power on … F12 … boot from flash
then from Clover boot menu chose to boot 10.10 from SSD where it’s installed
system booted without any problems
mounted EFI, checked that all files are in their place. then i removed flash and rebooted system. guess what – everything is fine now ! system powered on booted directly to Clover menu and then to 10.10. I really don’t know what was wrong before, no idea …
Hey rampage I’m having problem booting into installer using clover, created the usb changed the csm use the boot flags u said but in verbose good it does not hang at anything it runs through and in the end the screen goes black as if the welcome screen is about to come up but then signal is lost nothing comes up.
well I used your config file the npci=0x2000, the kext dev flag, v and cpus=1
by the way is and R9 290x supported under 10.10 I’m thinking of changing the GPU because i think it will be better for Final Cut Pro X
I have Radeon HD 5850 on R4E
1. Is this Card is ok for UEFI boot?
2. Can I make the clover usb installer on a 10.9 installation on my PC? it uses chameleon bootloader
Hello rampagedev, I am looking to upgrade soon. I will be installing Yosemite with Clover bootloader. I am debating which MB to get, Asus ASUS RAMPAGE IV GENE X79 or ASUS SABERTOOTH X79 unless there is one even more compatible? I am also looking at the Xeon E5 2680 v2. Are all 10 cores working? Power Management for CPU? Any of the MB components work out of the box like USB 3? Do you have a specific guide for this motherboard and CPU combination?
I have a Rampage IV Formula with a i7-3930k, i followed the tutorial and had no problem to create de key, the problem is i can see the key in boot menu, select it but clover doesn’t start, it’s start my default Windows 8 installation ! Do not understand why i cannot boot the key … I have an old BIOS version 1305 … something goes wrong but i do not what because i had no error at all during all the steps of the tutorial …
As I’ve never done an update to my hackintosh I don’t know what to do right now. Your 10.10 Install Guide seems to be an Install guide from scratch and it doesn’t say what to do if you want to update. There is an update guide over at tonymacx86, but I did my hackintosh with myhack and chameleon.
Is there a guide for upgrading or did I miss something?
Is it possible to install 10.10 with clover, if I used myHack to install 10.9? Because if so, then I can simply install 10.10 with your guide and I don’t have to erase the HD, right?
@rampagedev,
Thanks for sharing all this wonderful work of yours. In the clover config I see the tables you drop ssdt dmar, however I don’t see drop OEM ssdt. When you open clover configurator that option is not ticked. Since you have which tables to drop is that option ignored? On one of my haswell devices I drop the tables as you do but also enable drop OEM ssdt. Thanks
I found your site today. I was previously eyeing on another hackintosh forum, which starts with a “t”-but although it’s informative and active and all that . . there’s something vague about it. I can’t put my finger on it, but I like this one better 😀 Seems more open and intuitive! ((I will donate as my build is up and running :DD))
Here’s my thing: Due to certain softwares I use, and which are compatible only through to 10.8. I will need to stick with 10.8. The install guide on this page says “10.6 to 10.9 using myHack”, so am I ok if I use myHack to install 10.8 on my system: Asus Z97 Deluxe / Intel 4790k with Intel 4600 graphics? I’m new to building PC’s so I have to make sure everything.
And a second question: Is it possible to make the system dual booting? I’d use win8 on another ssd.
You have to use 10.8.5 and use clover. You would have to make the installer usb like you would on a real mac. My z97 msi build runs on 10..8.5 and everything works with a bit of effort…
Good evening. The Clover guide says: “14. Clover Bootloader is now Installed 26: Download the following command file for 10.9 here and for 10.10 here”. Where are steps 15-25? And where can I locate the command file for 10.8?
Was loaded Hakntosh Mafrcks 10.9 device dell t 5400 and has already worked without problems, but i updated and that time did not I log back on Almfrcks how I can I remove this update in order to re-machine as it was informed that what I’m seeing is but the screen keeps freezing with the gray apple on it
I have successfully installed Mountain Lion with your MyHack install guide over a year ago. I am looking to create a new install with Yosemite on a separate hard drive to test it out. I am using your Clover guide to create an install USB stick. For some reason nothing happens when I use the 10.10 command line script. I enter a password on the terminal screen and it just disappears. The Clover drive is formatted properly and the EFI drive is mounted on the desktop. I am using a real Mac Pro at work to create the USB installer.
on preinstall boot got infinite looping message on screen: localhost com.apple.xpc.launch[1] (com.apple.displaypolicyd.xxx) Service could not initialize: 14A389: xpcproxy + 14045 Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds
deleted the Generic from extras folder , repaired permissions , restarted , pasted new kext from x79 folder again repaired permissions and restarted , same issue. before on ml it woked like a champ , with 10.10 it would not work after boot but if i unpluged and pluged the cable back in it started to work and over again after each restart.
Heya, Tried updating my 5 series to yosemite running a gtx 650 from 10.9.5, but at desktop screen goes dead. Don’t know if its something to do with the pcie other cards in there, a wifi and sata3. Did the same method, updating 10.9 w/app on my r9 290 system and it worked fine. Don’t know if its because of the uefi bios. Also the real mac pro with a 660 ti. Was thinking about trying on the gtx 275 system uefi but not sure if it will be a success. Run clover on all.
installed Yosemite with unibeast usb stick to a x99 MB. It boots fine from the usb stick into the installed OS X, than i installed clover to the HD (drivers etc). After reboot clover boot loader only finds the recovery partition as the only bootable drive. What am I missing?
HI,
I used myHack to install 10.9, worked great – Thanks! I then used UniBeast MultiBeast to upgrade to 10.10, It’s fine, except audio fails after returning from sleep. ( and iMessage broke as expected )
No other issues on GA Z77 DS3H board.
Query – Is the myHack.kext file still needed, should I remove it or ignore it? myHack.kext is in /S/L/Ext/
I have a question. So on part 5, where am I installing the boot loader to. You have it selected to “Macintosh HD”, but obviously I don’t have any operating system on the computer I’m looking to install on. So where am I installing clover? on the flash drive?
I followed the Clover instructions for 10.10 but my USB stick wouldn’t boot (gave a gpt error; yes it was tested on multiple USB2 ports) so i used a real mac to install 10.10 onto a SSD and copied the kexts per muzzman1’s experience. Also copied the revised config.plist too but the SSD would not boot (tho it was the sole drive). So i connected my old working SSD with 10.8.5 on a
GA-X79-UP4 and booted the 10.10 SSD with cpus=1 npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 nv_disable=1. The boot hangs at “New Power Throttle state:1 Old state:0”. Any suggestion on what to do?
Forgot to mention, my motherboard’s BIOS version is 1.0_f2 and i just noticed that the Gigabyte support web page now lists 1.0_f7. Is an updated BIOS required for 10.10?
Thanks for the suggestion, but as you can see from the post above, i tried nv_disable=1 to no avail. Eventually, if i waited about 5 min, i would get ‘Resetting IOCatalog’. Since then, i removed the new Broadcom card (which draws power from a USB header too) and went back to the old 802.11n card and now don’t get the New Power Throttle error. Here is a link to the most recent screen http://www.biodan.org/misc/hex/yosemiteBoot3.jpg with -v -x cpus=1 npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 nv_disable=1 (with or without PCIRootUID=1 or 0). FYI, there is a single low-end Asus EN210 video card, i7-3930k and 2 SSD’s (10.8.5 and the 10.10– even tho i used Clover 3021, the 10.10 SSD wont boot on its own, previously i added the boot from the i386 (chameleon) to the 10.10 USB stick & it would boot but would allow me to install- thats when i went to putting 10.10 onto the SSD from a real mac). I appreciate your time, will donate, but likely will stick with 10.8.5 and wait a few months before trying again.
FYI, just put back the combo 802.11ac/BT card (from Amazon: ‘Broadcom BCM94360CD BCM4360CD 802.11ac mini PCI-E WiFi WLAN Bluetooth 4.0 Card for Apple’) but also added your beta USB kexts and the VoodooTSCSync.kext found in the DMG (aren’t these meant for post-installation? … if i could only get there 🙂 without having to ‘bootstrap’ with my 10.8.5 SSD). Here is the screen shot http://www.biodan.org/misc/hex/yosemiteBoot4.jpg with -v -x cpus=1 npci=0×2000 kext-dev-mode=1 nv_disable=1. Interestingly, it is now resuming/suspending the IOBlueToothUSBTransport before bailing out with a ‘Resetting IOCatalogue’. At least it got past the power throttle point. BTW, a correction on my earlier post- the bootable 10.10 Clover 3021 USB stick would *not* allow me to install, it would instantly return to the prompt.
gax79up4,
Update your bios to F7. I have the same motherboard and have sucessfully installed Yosemite using Rampagedev’s method. I just can’t get it to wake after sleep…
I will post all my settings later tonight.
Motherboard: GA-X79-UP4
CPU: i7 4930K
GPU:GV-R7970C-3GD (HD 7970)
Don’t have Password set up. I instal clover in my Main SSD I follow the guide now i restart my mac and is the clover Christmas screen? OMG I am LOST man.
I panic a bit, so i add a password to my System now is mounting in the USB, as u say in the guide is automated.
I guest terminal let me know a soon is done Right?
Then i can continue with Part 6: Kext Installation right?
My question now is, Clover is installed in my MAIN SSD MAC PRO, I say before I restart the mac and then appears the clover menu “Christmas screen”, can I remove that later?
thx! I have other questions:
1) is “Trim” for SSD activated by Clover?
2) after 10.10.1 Update i have booting delay of roundabout 20s. Do you have any idea why?
Uae trim enable. Do not change anything in Clover. Do not remove any kext of file for booting. No one cares about boot times. Its not important and modding something that you do once a day is not a good thing.
I’m having issue installing Yosemite in my system. I was able to make the bootable USB using clover EFI v2k r3033 . I used the boot argument -v npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1 and I didn’t have any success booting. Thank’s in advance for the help!
Sorry. It’s on a Gigabyte X79-UD5. OS 10.10 already running under chameleon. I’m really just trying to do the iMessage hack (booting via the USB bootloader then booting from my working install). So all I’m trying to do is get the Clover bootloader screen to show but instead it shows this.
Not sure what else to tell you. I just re-made the USB again, I did EVERY step without fail.
I have 2 video cards GT-640 and GTX-680. Plugged into the GT-640, which shows the UD5’s BIOS screen at startup. I then hit F12 to go to the drive selector, select the USB and then straight into this goobledegook screen. I’ve never seen anything like this. Chameleon just worked, other than fiddling with boot flags (no big deal).
I thought it might be the video cards, tried plugging into other one, nothing showed. I also unplugged the HDMI monitor from GTX-680. Nothing I do changes anything. For instance, no different settings in the clover install – I’ve used the EFI partition and the non-EFI way. the last way I tried is following your guide exactly.
Very frustrating that I can’t get it to do anything different no matter what I try. So that’s why I posted this screenshot.
Thank you. Please let me know what else I can tell you, I can’t think of anything else specs-wise or anything else that’s relevant. I built this machine in 2012 and it runs perfectly, except with 10.10 I can’t get iMessage to work which is super inconvenient. Hence this attempt.
Make sure you are using the latest bios version. Also use the gtx 680 for boot. Also make the proper bios changes but you will need csm left enabled due to your gpu.
Thanks for the reply. I will try those things and report back. Note: I could not find anything in the bios regarding CSM or secure boot, but I will look again.
Amazing tut, thank for all.
My computer:

A greetings!.
Hung on the GPU. Native drivers do not support the TI only the retail so use clover to block the Nvidia drivers.
How can block nvidia drivers? In options of bootlader?
A greetings, and thank you very much for your reply
I test with flag: nv_disabled=1
With the GraphicsInjector=YES.
But i cant start. the same problem.
Ah, I forgot to mention:
When i try with that flags and start in safe mode, i see “Uptime” bla bla bla, and one second later, restart my computer.
And with Chimera, i could see the installation with my same hardware, How is that possible?
Thank you for all 😉
Because they tell the system to look for another CPU that does not exist this breaking the system into working. It is a horrid thing to do…
I cant make nothign, then?
When i start in safe mode i see that screen one second, and later restart my computer:
This is not a pick and choose when using boot flags. Stop using Boot flags you do not understand!
Yep, that screen was realize when i test multiple flags in the same time, but with “-x -v npci=0x2000 cpus=1” was the same…
I create again my USB with your tutorial and make really good.
Thank you very much for all 🙂
Hi Rampage,
First of all thank you for the excellent guide.
Any ideas? I’m completely lost at this point.
1. Why are you using flags that are not from clover
2. Why are you not using the flags provided in the guide
3. It can’t find the USB so put it in a USB 2.0 port
Failure to follow the guide will result in a failure to boot.
That’s a fair point. The reason I was trying a lot of options was because I honestly wasn’t expecting such a quick reply. I moved the installer to another USB port and it completed successfully. Thanks for your help!
Enjoy.
Thanks for all your help!
If it failed to boot off the drive after installing clover and the proper files with it its is a end user error.
I realize that it is a problem with something I am doing. Can you offer any guidance? Your guide says to move on to Part 4, but Part 4 is where you are setting up the USB drive. I am just looking for where to look next because the rest of your steps are unclear to me.
I ported part of the guide from my Clover support page. I removed the last typo. Should be clear now. Let me know.
Low priority. But just get the kernel on my AMD DMG with the matching OS X version listed on the folder and replace the one on a myHack USB installer.
Ok thanks 🙂 I’ll try that soon
Hi,
My system is:
ASROCK X79 EXTREME9
Corsair 32GB DDR3 1600Mhz Dominator
EVGA GeForce GTX 560 Ti FPB
Intel® Core™ i7-3930K Processor
I am trying to install mavericks 10.9.4 with clover but I am stuck on Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport. I read in a earlier answer from you it is the GPU can this be the case? I have a ASUS 650 TI 2 GB also should I try this instead?
Thanks
Enable Nvidia injection in the Clover menu.
Hi,
That didn’t work still the same issue:
**** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] — Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport
But I also noticed that I have this:
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory…!
I have done the Installer USB followed your guide and Kexts etc. accordantly:
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/ and replace default config.plist with attached config.plist found in “X79 DSDT” FOLDER
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9/ and add FakeSMC.kext
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/kexts/10.9/ and add NullCPUPowerManagement.kext
Navigate to /EFI/CLOVER/drivers64UEFI/ remove VBoxHfs-64.efi and add HFSPlus.efi
A other issue I have is when I Remove Clover installer USB from my PC and put the Clover installer USB in my Mac I can’t see the EFI folder anymore. How come?!
Thanks
Hi,
I have installed the ASUS GTX650 card and I have the same issue:
**** [IOBluetoothHCIController][SearchForTransportEventTimeOutHandler] — Missing Bluetooth Controller Transport
And
BootCacheControl: Unable to open /var/db/BootCache.playlist: 2 No such file or directory…!
The good thing due is that the BOIS don’t reset my CSM to enabled.
Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks
Hung on the GPU. Disable injection for this model.
U try with “-v -x” ?
Hi,
I have tried add -x but then the installation terminate much earlier.
Thanks
I have tried this
-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
and
This -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000 -x
Hi Rampagedev,
these are my specs:
Thanks in advance
Sounds like a dual link issue with your onboard graphics.
Thanks in advance.
i try the fresh install 10.9.5 (vanilla install)
create USB bootable flash drive with myhack copy this kernel and replace the system.kexts to the usb bootable flash drive
try to boot it and it will get stuck

i try removing the the kexts but still same issue…please advise
Hi Rampagedev, thanks for all the useful info. I’m building my new hackintosh (made sure everything is compatible), just waiting on a few parts left.
Here’s my situation tho:
I own a macbook pro and I wanted to use its SSD (backing it up first) (OSX 10.8.5) for the new build, would I have to wipe it out and follow all the steps or is this an advantage and it would save me some?
This is my main doubt before I start working on it
Thank you
Just follow the guide and you will be fine.
Hello,
Does Clover not support PS2 Keyboard? Everything works great except that.
Thanks for all the great work and support….!
You need a driver. Not sure if there is one for UEFI…
when i install kexts and repair permissions the kexts will not load. -s and kextcache -prelinked-kernel will not work…?
What method are you using?
what do you mean exactly? i use clover bootloader without kext-dev-mode=1…kext install and repair permissions with kext wizard. then i boot the machine incl.
Hi. I made the Clover boot stick but the install button does nothing. How do I replace the EFI? you’ll have to excuse me for being a noob thickie.
Be more clear.
Having what I believe is the same issue. Clover is installed onto the USB correctly however the “Boot OS X from Install OS X” drive does not even attempt to boot.
Does it return back to the Clover Menu?
Thanks for your work Andrew!
Not understanding how you could have followed my guide considering I don’t support Cham for 10.10
Do you know that with myHack method when you’re about to “Choose your install type…” All they have for OS selection is 10.9, 10.8, 10.7, 10.6. There is no 10.10 in there just a heads up.
Yes and if you read the guide I did not update it for 10.10. Only supporting clover.
2. Disable CSM in the BIOS — this disables my windows 7 boot install if I do disable csm.
Again. This guide if for Mac OS X only. If you do not have a UEFI install of windows then enable CSM as needed.
I am not able to do the work USB3.0. None of the front or rear USB3.0 are working. Only USB2.0. The audio, video, etc are working. You know how I do to work all USB3.0 ??
Rampage IV Extreme – i7 3930k – Radeon 7970.
The driver on the DMG…
I have already installed all the Kexts that are in the DMG, both in the system using the “Kext Helper” both EFI – Clover – Kexts – 10.10.
But still nothing working USB 3.0. And I have an external HD USB3.0, but is only running at 2.0 inputs.
Any tips?
Post a IOReg.
My IOReg
http://cl.ly/3k0x0e2j1D1H/download/Vinicius%E2%80%99s%20Mac%20Pro.ioreg
Seems you failed to follow the read me on the x79 DMG for post install. IOReg tells no lies!
Ok. I will have to upload a beta usb 3.0 kext later…
Any ideas?
Please review the documentation I have provided here in my Retail Driver guide. You need to apply the required boot flag. Please read!
Generic Extensions To Boot? or my Mobo Kext + 10.10 driver?
What about ssdt and ssdt-1, work in 10.10?
Use the Generic Extensions for install and the SSDT-1 works in 10.10. ACPI tables are independent of the OS…
Is there a way to edit the config.plist from outside the os using clover? Like using terminal from install usb.
I’d create a flash drive using myHack for those situations that I need terminal access.
Thanks for your guide though.
You can have csm enabed. Sounds like your using a old dmg.
I will get a new one tonight. I’ll keep you posted afterwards. Thanks again.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
520… hmm… is that even a UEFI card?
I also have a 9800GT, will that work?
No. I assume CSM is enabled for the card you have. May have to use Nvidia Disable flag to boot in with the card you have.
Sorry Found it. Its nv_disable=1
Its ok.
Now I have :
-v cpus=1 npci=0x2000
kext-dev-mode=1
nv_disable=1
and still hange on :
GeForceSensors (pci2) started.
Make sure FakeSMC is installed.
9800GT 1Gb, working in 10.10 with GraphicsEnabler=Yes
On verbose boot reads ” 13FakeSMC preconfigured keys added”
” 5 Keys exported by clover efi”
Success! I’m embarrassed to say I did not copy over the Config.plist to the efi\clover. Once I did that, booted right up.
Donating now…thanks!
It happens. 🙂
What is the syntax for that flag? (Sorry I’m a rookie!)
Hi rampagedev !
Thanks for this tuto 🙂
I’m trying to install Yosemite with your Clover method for many hours now… 😥
When I try to boot with the commons boot flags, my install stop at “DSMOS has arrived”
Picture : http://bit.ly/ZDAggl
I’ve to enter this : ” -v cpus=1 npci=0x2000 kext-dev-mode=1 ” in Options > Boot Args ; right ?
My PC :
_ Intel Core i7 4930K
_ Zotac GeForce GTX 780 Ti AMP Edition – 3 Go
_ Asus P9X79
_ Corsair Hydro Series – H100i
_ G.Skill Kit Extreme3 4 x 4 Go PC12800 ARES CAS9
_ Corsair AX860i Modulaire – 860W
_ Crucial M550 – 512 Go
_ TP-Link Carte Wifi PCI-E TL-WDN4800
_ Western Digital WD Red 2,5″ – S-ATA III – 1 To
You either did not install the kexts into the proper folder or its hung on the GPU.
So, I think its hung on the GPU…
How to fix it please ?
Use the diable nvidia boot flag.
I will continue on and try other full install ideas and even fix/repair permissions and will report back.
thanks.
Thank you for your word and your answers!
THANK YOU!
I only include needed kext
Hi Rampagedev !
Thank you for awesome tutorial – did clean install of 10.10, everything works as it should work ! But then i ran in to trouble. Before installing, not to mess things up, i disconnected all other hdd and ssd drives. Config before installation of 10.10 :
10.9 chameleon
GA-X79-UD5
I7-4930 OC 4.25
32 GB Kingstone ram
ATI HD5770
Thank you in advance !
VLD
Install useing clover as that should address your issue.
Yes, i did fresh install on SSD using your install method, installed Clover after installing 10.10. Problem appears only when i connect other hdd drives. Without other hdd drives system starts and runs great.
Try other sata port combinations.
Finally got everything running ! Step by step :
connected all HDD drives and SSD drive where 10.10 is installed
plugged in USB install flash with Clover installed on EFI partition
power on … F12 … boot from flash
then from Clover boot menu chose to boot 10.10 from SSD where it’s installed
system booted without any problems
mounted EFI, checked that all files are in their place. then i removed flash and rebooted system. guess what – everything is fine now ! system powered on booted directly to Clover menu and then to 10.10. I really don’t know what was wrong before, no idea …
Working now. Clover bug perhaps. Enjoy.
Hey rampage I’m having problem booting into installer using clover, created the usb changed the csm use the boot flags u said but in verbose good it does not hang at anything it runs through and in the end the screen goes black as if the welcome screen is about to come up but then signal is lost nothing comes up.
asus rampage iv
3930k
nvidia gtx 780
Make sure you are using the correct flags with Clover…
well I used your config file the npci=0x2000, the kext dev flag, v and cpus=1
by the way is and R9 290x supported under 10.10 I’m thinking of changing the GPU because i think it will be better for Final Cut Pro X
I have Radeon HD 5850 on R4E
1. Is this Card is ok for UEFI boot?
2. Can I make the clover usb installer on a 10.9 installation on my PC? it uses chameleon bootloader
No, so tou will have to leave csm on.
Thanks
Buy the asus x79 deluxe.
You MUST update the bios to the latest bios offering from asus.
Hello Andrew,
As I’ve never done an update to my hackintosh I don’t know what to do right now.
You must ido a clean install.
But can I do the timemachine backup after the clean install? Because otherwise I would have to reinstall all of the programs etc.
Only do a user migration. Best off reinstalling the apps.
@rampagedev,
Thanks for sharing all this wonderful work of yours. Thanks
Dont change my config files
Thanks so much, you’re doing AMAZING work!!!!!
You have to use 10.8.5 and use clover. You would have to make the installer usb like you would on a real mac. My z97 msi build runs on 10..8.5 and everything works with a bit of effort…
Very cool! Is it possible to extract the needed installer from DVD?
There have never been a DVD of 10.8.5. Get the App from the App Store.
Good evening. The Clover guide says: “14. Clover Bootloader is now Installed 26: Download the following command file for 10.9 here and for 10.10 here”. Where are steps 15-25? And where can I locate the command file for 10.8?
Ok, will do! TY!
You don’t have 10.10 downloaded….
its in my application folder where it should be
Unless the clover usb is not fomated to the name of Clover ot the app is missing would be the only cause dor it not to run.
on preinstall boot got infinite looping message on screen: localhost com.apple.xpc.launch[1] (com.apple.displaypolicyd.xxx) Service could not initialize: 14A389: xpcproxy + 14045 Pushing respawn out by 10 seconds
Pic of the screen.
Looks like something is corrupt.
Can you recommend a decent USB 3.0 Pci Express adapter? Thank you.
Sid you try the beat kext on the x79 dmg.
its a evga sr2 board. Thank you.
deleted the Generic from extras folder , repaired permissions , restarted , pasted new kext from x79 folder again repaired permissions and restarted , same issue. before on ml it woked like a champ , with 10.10 it would not work after boot but if i unpluged and pluged the cable back in it started to work and over again after each restart.
Hung on the gpu.
Hi Rampage, thanks for your web and job.
So, in this guide I don´t understand step Part 6. What is its utility?
If no part in the realization of USB installation
PD: sorry for my english
Hi,
installed Yosemite with unibeast usb stick to a x99 MB. It boots fine from the usb stick into the installed OS X, than i installed clover to the HD (drivers etc). After reboot clover boot loader only finds the recovery partition as the only bootable drive. What am I missing?
thanks for your help
How about using a supported method. Cant help you since you installed using a broken method.
HI,
I used myHack to install 10.9, worked great – Thanks!
Cant help. Unsupported method.
I have a question. So on part 5, where am I installing the boot loader to. You have it selected to “Macintosh HD”, but obviously I don’t have any operating system on the computer I’m looking to install on. So where am I installing clover? on the flash drive?
On the Flash drive…
What your telling me is not what is happening.
Post a pic of the screen.
Forgot to mention, my motherboard’s BIOS version is 1.0_f2 and i just noticed that the Gigabyte support web page now lists 1.0_f7. Is an updated BIOS required for 10.10?
Nope

Hung on the GPU. Use the disabler Nvidia Flag. Then install the Retail Drivers.
Based on what you just told me you skiped over something in the guide… Look for hfs….
gax79up4,
Update your bios to F7.
I have a older bios on mine and runs fine. Perhaps rev 1.0 boards have a issue?
What bios version are you using Rampagedev?
I dont know of hand. I do know its a older version and the board is rev 1.1
The clover command is asking for a Password? click enter still nothing.???
I am lost
.
Enter your password.
Don’t have Password set up. I instal clover in my Main SSD I follow the guide now i restart my mac and is the clover Christmas screen? OMG I am LOST man.
Ypu always need a password.
Why did you not install to the proper location?
Also won’t let me type any letters
I panic a bit, so i add a password to my System now is mounting in the USB, as u say in the guide is automated.
I guest terminal let me know a soon is done Right?
Then i can continue with Part 6: Kext Installation right?
My question now is, Clover is installed in my MAIN SSD MAC PRO, I say before I restart the mac and then appears the clover menu “Christmas screen”, can I remove that later?
When the script is done it will show you.
Do I have to install Clover again (or some parts of it) after updating to 10.10.1?
Nope
thx! I have other questions:
1) is “Trim” for SSD activated by Clover?
2) after 10.10.1 Update i have booting delay of roundabout 20s. Do you have any idea why?
Maybe because of Thunderbolt? (but it boots longer than before even when Thunderbolt device is not connected) I remember that I followed this fix -> http://www.tonymacx86.com/general-help/128748-fix-slow-boot-thunderbolt-2-0-motherboards.html
Do I have to do it again?
Thx in Advance for your help!
Cheers,
Efe
Uae trim enable. Do not change anything in Clover. Do not remove any kext of file for booting. No one cares about boot times. Its not important and modding something that you do once a day is not a good thing.
Again, followed this one to a T
When it boots to clover, get options.
I choose install from external – OS X Yosemite install
Nothing but blank screen. Let it sit for 20 min thinking maybe i was rebooting too soon…nothing.
Asrock x79 Extreme6 board
2011 I7 Cpu
16gb ram
R9-270 Gpu
I have never been able to get os x to boot to the install screen….from any install that I have tried – 9 different ones to date.
I have tried several….more than 10 in virtualbox….never gotten to the install screen. Always a blank screen or the apple screen.
Is my mobo just broke?
Hi Rampage,
I’m having issue installing Yosemite in my system. I was able to make the bootable USB using clover EFI v2k r3033 . I used the boot argument -v npci=0x2000 nv_disable=1 and I didn’t have any success booting. Thank’s in advance for the help!
System specs:
Mobo: Gigabyte Z97X-UD5H
CPI: Intel 4790K
GPU: EVGA GTX 760
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB 1600mhz
Need a lot more info then that.
I followed your guide exactly. When I boot, I get this on the screen, nothing else:
What on earth is that all about? No options to enter boot flags or anything. Just straight into that.
Need a lot more info then this. Specs OS version and more…
Thanks
Make sure you are using the latest bios version. Also use the gtx 680 for boot. Also make the proper bios changes but you will need csm left enabled due to your gpu.
If you have not seen I launched a new website so things have been very busy for everyone here.
Thanks for the reply. I will try those things and report back. Note: I could not find anything in the bios regarding CSM or secure boot, but I will look again.
It is in the BIOS.
Yes I’m aware it’s supposed to be in the BIOS. I can’t find any settings for those things.
Make sure you are on the latest BIOS.
Got it – will do. Thanks.
When these boards were released the next gen UEFI standard was not released.
